Xiapu County

Xiapu, is a county in the municipal region of Ningde. It has a stretch of East China Sea coast, with many harbours and islands. It is bordered by Fuding City and Zherong County to the north, Fu'an City and Ningde centre to the west, and Luoyuan County to the south (Fuzhou Municipality). Xiapu has land area of 1,716 km² sea covers 29592.6 km², with population reach 510,000.

Xiapu has a long history, which dates back to 282 AD in Jin Dynasty when it was called"Wenma County". It was called" the Prefecture of Funing Zhou" in Yuan Dynasty in 1286 AD and it was upgraded to "the prefecture of Funing "in 1734 in Qing Dynasty. Later it was set up as "Xiapu County". The whole area includes 7 towns, 7 villages and has a population of 510,000.The national second-class port---Shansha was the first port open to Taiwan in Fujian and it has a distance of only 126 sea miles from Jilong, a famous port in Taiwan.

It was the first trade port to Taiwan in Fujian, and it has an active and prosperous business with the people there. Guanjin Fishery and Dongwu Fishery are the only spawn places of the yellow croakers and the breeding base for seaweeds, lavers and abalones. This area abounds in Salina clams, Shajiang oysters, Yacheng crabs, yellow croakers, razors, abalones, seaweeds, lavers, Late lynches and so on.
